That about sums it up (in a nutshell)

Its a fuckin' disgrace. I remember seeing it when the guy started the carving - a bit of independent art in my opinion.

The tiger in its last resting place - dumped in a pile of wood next to the bridge over the Kelvin on Belmont Street....

Does anyone around G.W.R know if the 'Tiger' survived the 5th of November?

I can testify that it was still in good shape this time yesterday.

I'll likely be past there tomorrow but you don't need a tour-guide to find the Tiger. Assuming you have an AZ/Multimap/Autoroute or whatever, find Belmont Street off GWRd.
If you go north on Belmont St, it's in a wooded bit of land just before the drop into the Kelvin at the Bridge.
You can't tell in the photo but it's about 2m from the fence at the edge of the pavement! If you don't know the area though, a walk around the streets to the West of where the Tiger is will reveal lots of sculptures and interesting things...

I read that the sculptor was connected to this charity for adults with learning difficulties, maybe this is how the poor tiger ended up near Belmont Street Bridge. If you fancy a stroll in some old fashioned Glasgow Lanes their premises are well worth a visit. There are some excellent wooden sculptures for sale and there used to be a wee cafe. They also had a shop nearby on Great Western Road

Frankly amazed that somebody hasn't, though there is now CCTV in the park (appeared about the same time as the Skatepark, unsurprisingly) so perhaps not now...

The guy who does (did?) it, Phil, and his dog are well known regulars in Stravaigin. More info
(***PAT'S GUIDE TO THE WEST END WARNING***) here.

I heard last night that Phil is in hospital, having broken his hip over Christmas.
I hear the people sing.
