It probably would have been RDR, but is no remaining evidence there to be seen. It's all grey concrete and breezeblocks. The floors go uphill and downhill, no stairs except to get down to the basement level, so you never really know how many stories down you have gone (probably no more than 2 from ground level).

I get confused with the old Cowcaddens area
Whats on the Dallas's site now? - if motorway - which bit?

Hi guys, not been on in quite a while unfortunately.
I have been told that there are about 3 stories underneath the HMV on Argyll street and as I work in another HMV, my boss is trying to see if I can go on a little bit of exploring down there.
I will take some pictures, etc.
Fingers crossed.

People there were saying it goes down 3 stories downstairs in that HMV, thought they were talking rubbish. Thats why I'm going down.

We can only hope something interesting is found. If not then ach well, had an adventure ::):

Not at all. Just sounded to me like another one of these...

AldridgePrior wrote:Hey guys, new to the forum and totally fascinated by this and all the other threads about hidden streets and tunnels under Glasgow. Anyway, I was talking to my mum's uncle's brother's nephew's grandson and he said that during the Jacobite Rebellion that he worked with Scottish Gas and that he helped dig a tunnel from Grahamston to the high court. The tunnel was used to transport French prisoners of war captured at the Battle of Glasgow Green. I'm hoping to meet up with him again next week where he has promised to show me many plans and pictures he has of the tunnel's construction and when I get them I'll be sure to post them all on here. Honest I will - pinkey promise, right hand up to God and all that.

Will get down as soon as I can guys.

I can see why you may be like that. I have posted up pictures of my little adventures in other parts like under central station etc before though.

I'll get you something ::):

Turns out there was a big metal door & lock put in place on the downstairs of most of the buildings on Argyll Street by the people that own the St Enochs Centre. (Well, that's what HMV told me)

Went for a look but there was no other way to get back in... a year too late I'm afraid

That's a bummer :cry:
