It is nice, isn't it? There may be a couple of Garden Festival things kicking around in there as well, but I was looking for something specific last night, and once I'd found it I'd had enough of digging around.
Too few hours in the day.

There are six copies currently being sold by dealers through http://www.abebooks.com.

Easily the most fascinating book ever written about Glasgow.

Part of the Coat of Arms travelled widely on the side of electric locomotives maintained at Shields Road Depot. This depot used the fish with the ring in it's mouth as the depot emblem (following the use of the Scottie Dog at Eastfield). Be dammed if I can find a picture of it in my collection.

Four for the price of one, as the coat of arms features on each of the four sides of the base of Doulton fountain, nearing the completion of its rescue to the front of the People's Palace.

It's really odd seeing it clean after all those years as the vandals took it apart, no doubt it will weather in and mellow with time.

What is the poem that goes with the crest, here is my wee take on it

1. The fish that couldn't swim - Beecause it's a Lazy wee shi... ::):

2. The tree that couldn't grow - Because some f*nny frae the parks deparment put weedkiller down when it was first planted :)

3. The bird that couldn't sing - Coz it knew it would get an ASBO for noise pollution ::):

4. The bell that wouldn't ring - Because the bell-end rusted away before anyone took notice. :)

What is the real meaning behind the poem anyone?
