Wasn’t that long ago I wood be waking up today with a pillow slip full of goodies, about 5.30am in the morning if my father remembered it right!
I would’ve out on the steeets first light showing aff what I’d got and sometimes I would have swapped it by dinner time, even more often the parents or the other child’s parents would be chapping at the door to swap it back, I remember even a bag of marbles to play with in a stank was a Joy to behold, then the old feller would get blootered, stick on the Hank Williams LOs and that was it we were away.
I’ve been out with the dugs this morning at 1oam for an hour, it is cold and frosty but very bright, I didn’t see one kid out today, if I had I would have swapped one of the dugs for a lucky bag!
