Was out for a walk along the Kelvin the other day, and was looking at the old mill remains in behind the BBC, where the old bridge used to be. Can anyone tell me what kind of mill it was, when it closed down, or any other info? Many thanks in advance.
This was an old flint mill circa 1850-1935, owned by Verreville Glassworks the flints were ground up and used in the glass and ceramics process. The mill lade can still be seen running from the weir (Think this was called 'Jacksons Dam') to what's now left of the foundations.
