Gaelic in Glasgow

Postby Bruno » Sat Sep 08, 2012 11:12 am

This stone is in the West End Park near to the Cyprus Lake, over at the Art Galleries side. It marks where a tree was planted, but the tree, alas, seems to have been felled. I thought the stumpt looked about 7 - 10 years old. I think the stone says "Shritaid ith air thalamh". I have the Gaelic cracked on the last three words, but the first has me beaten. Any suggestions? Anyone know the story?
