Now this is the kinda anecdotal stuff I love to hear about ...proper boy's own adventures back in the day 8)

Imagine if you had a camera at your disposal to record your adventures?

It must be shite being a kid these days

It must. They seem to have everything now, there must be nothing to look forward to...

10 minutes of the Glasgow Underground refurb, taken from the 1980 Trans-Clyde promotional video.
(BTW it's an old tape, so even the picture & sound quality of the original isn't great).

Excellent stuff!
Great trying to spot familiar areas.

As always with these information films, the standard generic music. I've often wondered who composes this stuff!

Great stuff Ken, thanks for posting these. Best bits for me were the images of the old Subway. Shameless nostalgia indeed! Loved travelling on the old Subway even though it was hopelessly out of date and I still miss it

Thanks Ken!! I think they're all brilliant. And thanks for the intro to a great site - youtube!!
Aside from that, does anybody have any idea where I could get a copy of the underground map that used to be in the carriages? Doesn't have to be original - just one I could copy?

Duck do you mean the old one or the new one?

I have just borrowed a book from someone at SPT about the Underground. I will have a look through it to see if there are any photos that can be scanned and post them up.

FANtastic! That's the one Ken! I'd love to be able to have a decent size version that I could frame. I know I'll probably be howled at for being an anorak but.................... I've been buying old Underground tickets on Ebay when they come up - I haven't got quite all the old station names yet but working on it and I'd thought of using each one next to its place on the map. Hence the request. I know, I know....but humour me!!

This one is in a book, if you like i'll do a higher pix scan of it for you to print out.
I've also got some spare tickets you're welcome to.
