We used to go there too but think my Nana and Granda preffered the Orlando as it was closer to the pub they used to drink in :) (I think the pub was called the windjammer or something....will ask my Nana at the weekend :))

Indeed. But Orlandos was still quite nice.

I wasn't a great frequenter of Glasgow cafes, being a latecoming non-Weegie and all that, but I used to like that wee triangular place next to Larkfield Depot. It's been a good decade and a half since I last passed it, mind - is it still there?

In order for a street to split it has to be joined in some way - move along nothing to see

The Windjammer is correct. God knows how many names it has since.

Living in Arden I used to take the 57 bus all the way to Radnor St, vist the Art Galleries and have a coffee and a roll in the Orlando. I remember they had a wee black and white cat that had free reign of the cafe and it did tricks! Obviously not juggling, conjuring or anything like that but it would "turn its wulkies" doing a sort of forward roll several times in succession.

I used to meet my girlfriend (now Mrs Tinbasher) out of work at lunch time and go to the University Cafe on Elmbank Street. Fantastic helpings of traditional Glasgow food Pie and Beans with chips or Macaroni Cheese and chips.

Your'e right the University Cafe is Byers Road and has a chippy next door the Kings is Elmbank Street. The cat still did tricks though
