Hi all!

Don't know if this post will be welcomed here or not but your forum was coming up as one of the top hits for photography in Glasgow!

My name is Jamie, and I represent the Glasgow Tigers American Football club.
We're an amateur team based in Glasgow's south side.

I'm looking for togs to come and shoot at our games and events. I'm interested in people both with experience in shooting sports, as well as people who might want to come and shoot a different take on the team. Come and experiment, take portrait shots on the sideline, action shots. It's actually a sport and day out that lends itself to some very interesting photography.

Anyway, if anyone thinks they'd be interested please give me a shout at [email protected]

Cheers, as a terrible photographer (I'm a graphic designer by trade) it's always nice to see people who know their way around the camera!

Hi Jamie; welcome to HG :)

I see your training ground is not far from East Kilbride Road (bus services 16, 18, 20, rail: Burnside, Cambuslang). When the weather's warmer, I might drop down the hill and have a look. I've done football, cricket and rugby but not American football.

We are actually training at Calderwood Primary astroturf just now (in the unpredictable cold weather it's a better place to train in pre-season)

Really interested to get a few peoples perspectives on it so we can get some nice shots for our marketing materials and team website.

The more the merrier! Anyone else interested??
Also would love a studio shoot with some of the guys for posters etc.

22 hours this post has been up, and not a single comment about ball handling or getting in to the end zone. I'm impressed.

My pleasure :D

Thanks to Jamie and Laurie from the Glasgow Tigers for making me feel welcome and for allowing me on the pitch to take the pics. I had a great time, and those guys work really hard at their training. I could see they all thoroughly enjoy the game.

I learned a lot about the game too, and managed...just...to keep out the way of getting caught in a scrum :)
I will put all the pics on Flickr, then a link to them from here, but here is an idea of the fun they all have....

I'm looking forward to going along to a game in the near future, they are held at Lochinch Stadium, Pollok Country Park.

Great shots Minxy .. did you manage to sneak a cheeky boot in when they were on the deck?

You never know .. they might have given you a permanent slot. :D

I'll need to drop Jamie48 a wee line and get the full SP on popping down and getting my tuppence worth.
