Wow! that is a very long render period for one scene, was that just for the jpegs or was that an moving animated scene render time ??.

i use lightwave 3D and the render periods depending on resolutions is nowhere as slow as that.

Been away for ages and I come back to me old thread again! That's what happens when you don't live near Glasgow any more...

To answer old questions, to avoid caustic noise, don't use caustics! The noise on my station image, I think, was for effect rather than an effect of the settings.

And my computer ain't too bad, but it's getting on a bit now. I think the number of lights in the scene probably made lots of shadows and slowed it all right up.

Chanced upon a couple of students the other week on Cathedral St. They were digitaly scanning Queen St. Station as part of a 3D digital map of Glasgow's city centre: (note the old sign, top left)
