If you were invited to a do near Queen's Park, don't bother:

I'd be tempted to do a quick swap and change that for one saying "Party cancelled due to complete indifference."
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

From Kildrum in Cumbernauld, first area to get developed, this type of sign was put up throughout Kildrum not sure if they appeared elsewhere don't think so.

The High School has been joined by four others, the Citizens Advice is long gone, and Kildrum Primary has been knocked down and moved into the empty Sacred Heart which had been closed.

Top half of this road-sign looks quite old?

They look like the marker posts used to carry signs for under road hydrants. Although they could also have held info on gas mains as well, I think. The concrete posts are fairly standardised, it's just the signage that differs. So it could have carried one of each?

As for the age of the road sign - I've no idea. As it mentions an A road, but isn't green, it must pre-date the signage scheme (green signs for A roads) introduced in the mid 60s for the new motorway network though, surely?

ETA: Is that remnants of black and white paint I can see on the pole? Could this mean that it might have pre-dated WW2 and had that colour scheme during the blackout?

They would previously have had "H" written on them for the little people to land their helicopters on. Why? Did you nick them to put on your study door?

Yeah, yeah, we got Brigit's joke the first time. That photo looks kind of old itself VT, btw.

When did they bring in the current slightly-boring road sign standard, then? And is it true that they're actually produced by blind folk? (no joke intended).
