So, exactly how many Bridges are there spanning the River Clyde :?:

It would be nice to have the types of bridge too. Photos of each Bridge would be even better :!:

Now there's a poser HH, how many bridges span the Clyde? We know how many are in Glasgow (20 to save you counting  And 21 when the deck of the "Neptunes Way"/Tradeston/ bridge is complete), plus the Erskine bridge is 21(/22)... how many upstream of Dalmarnock tho?

(get yer Google Earth fired up there folx hehe)

:D

Is it just me, or does the post title - Clyde Bridges - sound like a film star from the 50s?

Crusty, upstream from Dalmarnock there is a few more, but
we seem to loose high definition google earth on the way to
Blantyre :( Looking at the OS mapping site at present.

Cheers for the info Ronnie, will have a look into that.
Oh, P.S. I hope Innes and Margaret took into account
the big bloody plank I put down as a footpath at
the rivers source

I was in a good position on Saturday morning to take some pictures of the centre section of the bridge being lifted into position...

Quite a feat of engineering!

Superb post really informative. If anyone has not read it yet i would sincerely recommend it.

Maybe a daft question, is this new bridge going to be open to all ? Will it not be swamped with cars ?
I'm glad there's another road crossing, but it just seems so narrow.
