Do they have tree's in these bone yards? Perhaps a combined expedition is in order? Maybe get a nice birds-eye view of the cemeteries?

man...i'm picturing a graveyard full of trees full of people hanging there like over ripe fruit !!

A combined expedition sounds good.

And it would be nice to see things from an uncommon vantage point!

"man...i'm picturing a graveyard full of trees full of people hanging there like over ripe fruit !!"

shouldn't that be 'strange fruit'?

Maybe a rope would be in order. None of us are getting any younger.[/quote]

Jim, are there any rules for getting up a tree. For instance, do you have to free climb unassited from the outset or are you allowed a wee punty up from a friend just to get things started??
And will competitors be screened for banned substances?

We don't want to fall foul with 'The International Treeclimbing Society' (TITS)now do we? ::):

On the subject of tree's, We've got a Witches Bow in the garden? It's two rowan trees that have been magicaly joined at the trunks approximately 8 ft at its apex. It forms an archway. Anyone got a clue to what a Witches Bow is.? It was a neighbour who used this term BTW. Its been here for a good century plus going by the growth rate of rowantrees. (slow)

I'll get a pic of it for your deliberation. Maybe 'The Voice of Reason' can shed some light onto this ancient tree bending custom.?
It only came to light last year when we had the tree surgeon round thinning out some of the forest in the gardens. He was loathe to do much to it apart from giving it a trim, the sensible fella. He'd only came across a few of them in his time, stating that it was a bit special and should be preserved.

Well:

If you visited a park in childhood (say the beautiful victorian Richmond Park in Bridgeton) with wonderfull mature trees overlooking the intersecting pathways. If you loved that park and its proximity to the Clyde before it enters the city centre, and returned to the place you so loved in childhood after many years; would the trees remember you from all those years back? Would they know how much has changed around them?

Robert Kelly.

tits oot . . .

Postby jim » Sat Mar 13, 2004 9:25 pm

Several tits in a tree sounds good!

As far as I can ascertain anything goes: ropes, punty's, ladders, trampolines. The thing is to get up there and feel the breeze.

As far as I'm concerned a day out which involves tree-climbing in various graveyards is about as good as it gets.
