Thanks for trying.....think she is now going to concentrate on the Liz Peden and Andy Scott stuff! :)

Stumbled upon a wee piece of Townhead for sale in Illinois USA, which didn’t quite make it for the City of Architecture in 1999!

If you fancy returning it to Glasgow, you can buy it here.
I’m not surprised it hasn’t sold yet. There’s not a lot you could do with it?

I came across Ray McKenzie's letter to the Herald back in 1999, when the statues from the demolished Townhead library were about to be shipped across the Atlantic.

Such a find Anorak, and good to read Ray's letter. I guess some will blush with shame upon reading your post.

Is anyone aware of any Henry Moore sculputures on display in public in Glasgow?

Lots of small towns in England have them in parks and housing estates that are council maintained,a city the size of Glasgow must have had one at some point.

Any ideas?

Some important looking fella in Douglas Street. It strikes me that the sculptor would likely end up on some register if this was made now:

And does this count? Dear old Queen Vicky in Kelvingrove of course:

A beautiful wee series of faces, HH.

The unwashed face in the first photo reminds me that Westbourne Gardens features one of the few remaining non-stonecleaned buildings in Glasgow. Somebody should start a thread...
