HH,

This is a wee question what with you being the helpful type and all.

Last time we were in Glasgow we had the van out to take some big pieces of furniture to the auction place
at Whiteinch. We got talking to the two guys and were asking them about an old piano which isn't in good lick
and has not been tuned for some time. They suggested that you would need a few people to get an item like
that down the stairs and out the close.

One name they mentioned was a Peter Smith who not only tunes them but sometimes keeps them for parts.
Believe he has a shop or shops in Glasgow/Paisley and wondered if you knew of him at all.

Think you would have to pay to get the thing removed from the flat but not sure what else to do with it.
Any suggestions from HH or anyone else are welcome.
I know there is supposed to be a Glasgow furniture initative but think it is for chairs and wardrobes etc.

Peter Smith trades (traded?) at 3 Canal Street and 60 Backsneddon Street Paisley 0141 848 6500 or 0141 887 6160.

You could offer it on Glasgow Freeshare and say that whoever takes it, really does have to take it all the way down the stairs themselves.

There are now two piano shops in Canal St. Two doors away from each other. ::):

My fondest memory of Paisley is from the year I spent studying there. One of the students went into a bakers shop and asked if they had any baguettes. The assistant looked blankly back at her before asking, "Whit's a baguette?" This was in the late 90s ::):

Arkleston Court Gallowhill ( 15 storey ) was passed for demolition during the week. It was of the same design of Millarston highflats. hope this might be of interest to anyone who likes demolitions.
