anyone know anything about this church. It appears to have been attached to a school or religious establishment but is now slowly rotting away
my camera had died when I visited so I don't have any pics
Sad but moving place

The building on the hill at Havoc Road is the old Notre Dame Roman Catholic School for girls which was built in 1912 alongside Notre Dame Convent. The building fell into disrepair in 1969 and a new Notre Dame school was built on Cardross Road. Further west along this road used to be St Patrick's School which merged with Notre Dame in 1990 to become Our Lady and St Patrick's School. The old St Patrick's school was demolished and the new one is on its site. The old Notre Dame school here was demolished in 2005 and the chapel is rumoured to be part of the new housing development which will be built there.

The day after Marlon Brando died my sister drove a few of us to Dumbarton for a bit of shopping. My mum loves the charity shops there, good for toys for the grandkids. Anyway, on the way into town as we were sat at traffic lights I spotted an almost steriotypically "dirty old man" doing something very odd to the side of a tenement building. He was basically humping the wall with that alarming blank look dogs have on their faces while they shag your leg. Needless to say we had a bit of a giggle about this.
As we left Dumbarton about an hour later, I was rather disturbed to see that the building shagger was still there and still "hard at it", so to speak. Lucky it wasn't one of them "pebble dash" style walls. I dread to think what that cheese grater effect would have had on the mucky building fucker.
"a very surprising wee toon" indeed!
