I'm sad to hear that. I thoroughly enjoyed the ongoing chronicles of the blue pool. Nigel gave us a lovely little mystery.

A real shame, as you say he did give us a wee mystery. Still definitely unsolved in my opinion despite the persuasive case put up by the mining faction.

I was up there in January with the dog and while all the puddles on the paths were covered in ice the water in the 'blue pool' never had a sliver of ice on it.

Must have missed this.

I don't post often but I do visit the forum a lot.

Brilliant read, another place to go. Thanks for the link

Very sad to about the author passing away. When you read these things and people's passion for a subject it does feel like a connection and a common interest, which makes news like this all the poignant.

The site has been copied and the work taken over by Simon - a local chap, that had followed the investigation. http://torwoodbluepool.co.uk/

The 'blue pool' is actually a redundant (and flooded) break pressure chamber that was part of the Grangemouth town council water supply from North Thirds Reservoir. The building warrant record and associate material is located within Falkirk Council Archives at Callendar House, Falkirk. Ref. 'Stirling County Council Planning Dept, Yellow Series". Mystery solved.
