Don't ask anyone in Pitt St about the position on cameras in public. They'll probably just reply "Cameras? Public? Crimes? Don't know anything about that sir.....can I interest you in some performance tables instead? Perhaps a statistical graph showing the impact assessment of community safety ...

Took ages to answer, and then when they did, it took ages to explain where I was - system don't work so well now local calls all go to a call centre with no local knowledge and only roads as a point of reference, of which there were none in the rolling fields where I was... To be honest, the much m...

Are you thinking about those vehicle reg recognition 'pooters? That's what crossed my mind how they manage to keep picking him out from a crowd. Nope, but it would be less of a coincidence if a couple of the stops were by traffic cars, as they have too big an area to cover to worry about getting on...

@Cybers: My brother in law got 5 in one evening - for no real reason other than being a young guy in a car - pissed off the desk seargent at the station by waiting until each was processed before producing the next one. That was just silly on the Sgts part. He could have just collected tem all once...

Also for those of us less au fait with such matters, is an HORT1 a 'ticket' with fixed penalty fine, or a traffic violation worth 3 points? HORT1 means "Home Office Road Traffic (form) 1". It doesn't come with points or a fine (unless an actual offence has been commited). It's just a wee ...

Ah, not guilty then, the 21st was a day off for me. It was also a day off for the two that came to your house by the sounds of it.

I had reason to call them out due to ongoing noise problems recently and to be honest they were a pair of cheeky arseholes who needed a good lesson in respect. Not to mention a good skelp as that's what I'd expect if I had cheeked up like they had. -Jim *or is it just me being 40? I hope, if it was...

Think Excalibur's got it right, definate abuse of power. I don't know the law on confiscation, but would have thought they would have to prove confiscation of the camera was in the public interest, or in some way used/involved in a criminal act. Would they have disposed of a mobile phone being used...

Feasibly, they could ask to see what's on your camera but I'm not sure if they have the powers to force you to show them, not in the context you described anyway. I'm in the police myself (boo hiss, boo hiss etc etc) and I asked the question once whether recording equipment could be seized as a prod...

Is that last picture from just off Kilmarnock Road, heading into Newlands?. It's not Newlands, it's Auldhouse. That's Mossgeil Rd you can see down the wee lane! I live in the 'orrible broon flats at the top of the hill to the right. Great views over Glasgow from the Hillpark shops if anyone is inte...

Is that last picture from just off Kilmarnock Road, heading into Newlands? Theres also a road which stretched from the top of Birgidale Rd in Castlemilk to the village of Carmunnock, but has now been blocked off at the Castlemilk end. I've no idea if any posts exist on this however, or if it was an...

Cherrybank Road isn't too bad.

Although Croftfoot isn't the best for originality - Thorncroft, Croftpark, Croftside, Ashcroft, Croftmont, Crofton, Highcroft, Bencroft, Glencroft, Crofthill etc.
