Re: Silverburn and Pollok Civic Realm

I have read on another forum that people who park in the Tesco car park at Silverburn for more than 4 hours are being issued fines by EuroCarParks and the notices stating this are rather hidden. One to watch out for me thinks if it's true.

Re: My Son and I's best day out EVER!!!!!!

Sounds like what me and my Dad used to do too. We'd go and buy a daytripper ticket which is unlimited buses (major ops), trains and subway for 1 adult and 2 children throughout Strathclyde. Great days, remember once going around Glasgow, before heading out to Helensburgh, getting the ferry across to...

Re: Subway today

I have to say I liked the idea of having tram/train solutions as a subway extension- basically trams that could run on train tracks and on street too. Was proposed for the Cathcart Circle and Paisley Canal Line.

Re: Auld Glesga Trams & Buses

How much chip-fat do you need to qualify for a 20p discount. I think I'd want a far bigger incentive than that to stand out in the rain, freezing cold, waiting for a bus that never seems to come on time - clutching my chip pan in my shivering hands. Imagine what tourists will think as they pass by ...

Do people tink it is acceptable for the subway of an apparently major city to run a bus instead of opening longer hours? This is not a criticism, just a question. I love the subway, but am becoming increasingly concerned with regards its limited virtues. I know SPT are examining its future in great...

Dead and buried, and were probably never going to happen anyway. Never had any vessels, despite promises, then claiming to be sourcing temporary vessels, which also never appeared. The company currently has two purpose-built, 260 passenger vessels, capable of travelling between Glasgow to Greenock,...

Motherwell is one of the main stations in the Glasgow area. It's manned and has a ticket booth but try getting a ticket there. They have two windows and one of them is usually closed. The other is usually taken up by a wee old woman that's booking a ticket to Blackpool four months in advance but do...

For those with zonecards, best thing to do is buy your ticket the Friday before it runs out. Usually quiet. I remember going into Glasgow one Saturday morning, not particularly busy but those familiar with the diesel trains on Paisley Canal and East Kilbride lines etc. will know that the Guard has t...

Having been to formula one races, the noise in the enclosed city would be loooouuud! Would hate to live there for the weekend, without earplugs you'd be deaf or have a splitting headache!

My old work got superplan data from the OS for use in Autocad, in designing stuff. It is fairly common for say a small plot of land or a road junction to be £100+, and some areas were £500 odd.

I just want to know why in the video the company reprogammed the destination to say Exact Fare Only- No Cookers Please. Looks like even they are having a laugh with this!

Glasgow's New Duel Purpose Buses

Ahh, who says that public transport in this area doesn't provide good service- the buses even allow you to move door to door! These Polish drivers are really caring ::):

My thoughts are not really for trams to run along congested streets, there are other ways. For example it could run just alongside Dumbarton Road and the Clyde, similar to the plans already in place (or make the cars use that route). A large section of Great Western Road is already laid out for tra...

I really can't see this happening, and it may not be the best use of the money anyway. As much as I like the Subway i'd prefer to see a tramway system introduced along the major roads in the city, and some sort of road bridge (NOT a footbridge) across the river at Clydebank or Scotstoun. See a tram...

I thought the subway would have originally operated the same as the mainline stations in the upkeep Instead of the contract cleaners that only seem to mop the platforms in certain bits Is Ibrox the only station to have hanging basket around the outside of the building (Don't think they have anythin...
