Millie the Dinosaur

Glasgow University's pet dinosaur (no, not the principal) has been sitting around, minding her own business outside the Gilbert Scott building for nearly five years now. I found out today that she's due to be removed on Tuesday. There's a petition to save her at http://www.petitiononline.com/millie ...

I was actually wondering about the ventilation last night as I was driving through - the tunnel was fairly smoky, and I couldn't work out if it was as a result of a particularly belchy lorry, or two way traffic meaning fumes weren't getting a chance to be wafted in the same direction..

The Abbey has a pink sign that says Abbey, and a pink cash machine. Other than that, it's much the same. Although it appears that the company has changed its logo again, following the takeover by Santander.

Last time I was at the Quay, I walked down from Sheilds Road - but by the time I came back, the gate at the side of the Odeon was locked, and I had to go around past the Burger King and back -- couldn't fathom any particular reason why they do that, given that it's totally open at the Kingston Bridg...

Here in the name of 'improving' the bus service travelling times, officialdom in its whacky wisdom decided that the bus drivers need not attempt to pull over to uplift and allow passengers to alight, they need now only stop at the new custom built stops which protrude out into the carriageway - in ...

wasn't the huff caused when the cooncil made King take down his hugely profitable billboards on the grounds that he appeared to be doing nothing with the building? Wasn't that because he was making more money out of the billboard than he could have done if he'd been renting out office space or hote...

The reason being that no motorway build anywhere in the U.K. has led to a lessening of traffic. The most benefit you might get is a temporary lessening in the routes that existed before the motorway Wouldn't it be fair to say that traffic along the A77 through Shawlands/Giffnock/Newton Mearns has d...

Definitely nowhere near as fun as their last tour, where there were goodie bags, and a brilliant game...

in the Usher Hall, no less.

So who's the Jelly fan? And were you too pissed off at having to stand around for two and a half hours before they came on stage?

Re: Mitchell Library Fire

My sister (who always seems to be the one who tells me about such things) has just sent me a text to say the Mitchell Library is on fire. Are you suggesting there may be a connecting implication? I'm beginning to think that there might be.. Sorry for the misinformation - she said there were lots of...
