I see what you mean with regards the other train operators.

There are the odd one that smile and acknowledge you. But they're definitely the minority.

Re: City Deer

We are really used to see them on Bute,so nobody seems to bother with them .They come right into the gardens and eat the flowers, bit of a pest. I said to my mate once ,do you like Venison, he replied yes i love it ,but it's DEAD DEER ./ boom boom. Yeah, I've seen them on Bute clattering along the ...

Re: Whiskies a gone-gone

Here's the details for the first one (all 3 are the same): Led by Bunnahabhain's distillery manager John MacLellan, this workshop will look at what it is that makes Islay so special, and how these unique attributes combine to produce world-famous whiskies. http://www.celticconnections.com/whatson/ev...

Re: Whiskies a gone-gone

Oh, the Celtic Connections festival is running its Whisky Masterclasses again this year. There's one each Saturday afternoon for three weeks starting this Saturday. I'm going next Saturday (26th).

Re: Whiskies a gone-gone

Now, this is my kind of thread. I promise to read it all very soon!

I would love to start collecting old/rare malts, but I'm too scared that I'd open them up one night in a fit of drunken madness.

Maybe not a bad thing...

Re: Forth and Clyde Canal

Funny you say that because I've got the canal run to Bowling and the trail to Loch Lomond earmarked for some point this year. I'll remember to take a puncture repair kit!

Re: Google Earth - Overlays, Interesting Finds Etc

I recently starting using Microsoft's Live Maps (Virtual Earth) online instead of Google Earth/Maps because the aerial shots are just so much more up-to-date and sharper. I've never really explored other uses for Google Earth, other than just looking at places, so this has inspired me to look a bit ...

Re:

I was doing my CSYS in Chemistry at the time this all kicked off, was going to test the burn through the site - it's largely culverted now, but emerges in Richmond Park next to Shawfield Stadium before joining the Clyde. Ended up abandoning it as it was a bit too tricky for a secondary school proje...

Re: This Train will now turn in to a Tram !

This is great, and about time! Manchester, Antwerp, Rome - just a few of the cities I've been to in the last couple of years that all have some sort of tram/train system, most of which go underground as well.

Re: Most violent streets in Glasgow

You should try living in the likes of Bute. We have a local cop shop in the middle of the town ,if you shouted loud enough they would probably hear you,but if you need them you have to phone through a call centre and the cops appear hours later.if you try to get hold of an offender untill they arri...
