Re: What are you watching?

Alan Bennett's AN ENGLISHMAN ABROAD on BBC FOUR last night. What city could possibly double as bleak, depressing, wintry, Soviet-era Moscow? Yes, Glasgow. :) Where in Glasgow is this again? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TGisiI_dI2E/SRhxaS8vaHI/AAAAAAAAAcw/uiIM_HolDO8/s400/caird+shot.jpg Screen shot fro...

No arguments from me. ::):

When I was in that same spot with my sister, she decided the two lions were called Basil and Marco. :)

Re: What are you watching?

eh! Banjo, the BBC drama, Jamaica Inn had a problem with the sound, I watched about 30 mins of it & gave up, the BBC got something like 750 complaints about this so they had it on the BBC news tonight saying it was a thec fault, so I was glad I wasn't going deaf. I thought the sound was fine, i...

Re: What are you watching?

Watched this last night: http://media.sfx.co.uk/files/2010/07/ithappenedhere4by3.jpg One I've often heard about but never got around to seeing. It's a genuinely creepy, low-budget take on 'what if the Nazi's conquered us.' There are the obligatory scenes of German soldiers sightseeing in Trafalgar S...

Re: What are you watching?

:)

Last night, in DVD mood, I watched THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD. Bleak, grim stuff. Very much not SKYFALL. Richard Burton giving it his wearisest-looking man-worn-down-by-deception performance.

Re: What are you watching?

It was way better than I expected. Best bit of all for me was the in-credit sequence at the end. I long for the days when baddies wore monocles, so this just made me SO pleased.

How it ties into Age of Ultron, thought, I just can't figure out.

Stan is The Man. :)

Re: IDS calls "War!" on the Great Unwashed.

Anyone see that 'Panorama' special last night, 'Please don't cap my benefits!' Heartbreaking and cruel. One thing puzzles me: if Brent Council find alternative accommodation for people forced out of the borough by the cap, why are those people still the responsibility of Brent Council if they are li...
