Slightly updated as I went a bit further along yesterday...

Having recently moved to Cumbernauld (all together, What's It Called?...) I find myself almost exactly half way along the Canal geographically. As a keen cyclist I've been using the towpath as a traffic free route for training so... I usually join the Towpath at Auchinstarry, where there is a large...

Les Negres...my god I didn't think anyone else had heard of them. I saw them at the Big Day (introduced by Richard Jobson I seem to recall) and at the Fleadh afterwards. Later they played the Garage and I remember seeing their tour-bus, a gorgeous green Vintage Mercedes parked up outside. The origin...

Upstairs at the Chip is hard to beat for me. Live ale, live lager, live cider.

Also the bar at rogano for a cocktail on a Saturday afternoon. Went in once to wait on a table downstairs and had 7 dry martinis. you should of seen the bill!

I used to do business with Robox who were originally calculator specialists. Yes, really, that's all they sold when they opened. There was another office equipment business there for a few years called Clydeforth, who were Glasgow's Olivetti typewriter dealer. McConomys was quite the place to go for...
