Re: Canon EOS lens advice please

I'm still confused - 1 of Mr Moto's links says that you should avoid FD-EF adaptation and that using non-Canon lenses works better than using old Canon ones! There are plenty of Nikon NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2 AIS Manual Focus Lenses going for under £400 on ebay...so allowing for manual only and metering is...

Canon EOS lens advice please

A friend is selling a Canon EOS digital camera cheaply, but without a lens. I'm tempted to buy it but would want to purchase a good quality fast lens to use with it. It seems that the 50mm/1.2 USM retails for £1200! However I've looked on ebay and there are lots of 2nd-hand manual 50mm/1.2 lenses de...

Hilarious! ::):

On the Star Wars theme...here's a 7 part review of the Phantom Menace.
It's over 1 hour long but worth watching.

Re: Cathcart redux. 31/01/10

Do you know about the wee sneaky bit through the fence beside the river where you could stop off for a packed lunch (well, if the weather was nice...)

Old smiddy and the Bank both do decent food if you end up in either.

Transatlantic flights

A colleague is looking to fly from Glasgow to New York. There are direct flights, however on the dates he has looked at it is cheaper on every occasion to fly via London. I'm told that these flights are almost always full regardless so I wouldn't imagine that passenger numbers affect pricing, theref...

Re: What does the people of Glasgow need?

The Baby Grand at Charing X does a good breakfast (eggs benedict, salmon and scrambled egg etc) as myself and MK can attest. Closer to your end of town Cranberrys on Brunswick St does a posh breakfast, though I don't know if it opens before 10 am. Tinderbox probably does something decent and is open...

Re: Glasgow Airport Rail Link (G.A.R.L.) Project Photographs

One exception I've seen is Helsinki (HEL), which has no rail link, but whose city-run buses work like clockwork, are modern, clean, and spacious. Yes, the first time I visited Helsinki was in February and it was -15 degrees and there was a hell of a lot of snow, far more than we have at the moment ...
