They feature from about 30 seconds in then again at the end. http://youtu.be/A-RUv267L9E Excellent find. They played Hamburg like a nu...

National Carriers - Springburn Road

Got emailed thes pictures, the National Carriers depot on Springburn Road roughly where Lidl & Costco now sits. First pictures I've seen for ages that still has the tenements on Auchentoshan Terrace which were demolished during the 1970s. http://i62.tinypic.com/axe4ch.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/...

Re: Can you locate this murial?

Possilpark maybe, to the East or West of Saracen Street? Lot of tenements no longer there around that area, streets like Stonyhurst Street and Bardowie Street.

Re: Clydebank Past & Present.

I'm not saying it is a ship but when you zoom right in it looks like the shape of a ship (same shape as the Queen Mary minus the 3 funnels) at John Brown's Shipyard. I have also been told (by my brother) that the race track was the original football park of Clydebank Juniors FC . Having zoomed in o...

GCC Polmadie Complex

It's a place that many people will be unaware of unless they have used the civic amenity facilities over the years. The council in their wisdom have sold most of the site off to Viridor, who will demolish the current transfer station and vehicle workshops to build a new all singing and dancing facil...

Re: Past Present Vol 2

Glasgow Council's disposal facility at Polmadie is due for demolition in the next couple of months, it was built in the 50's and the site has been sold off to a private company (Viridor) who will now make a profit from the city's rubbish.

Re: the secret lavvy network: the true meaning

One not on the thread are the public toilets that used to be in Vulcan Street in Springburn. Filled in long ago as part of the "regeneration" of Springburn, but I can remember using them as a nipper.

Where were you standing, then, top of Quarrywood or further round on Ryehill Road?
