Re: Direction Of Finnieston Crane

Aesthetics plus it avoids it being side-on to the prevailing winds, would be my guess.

Re: Oddities

Excellent.

Meanwhile, if anybody finds a hole in their life that can only be filled by the purchase of a life-size fake bronze gorilla, get down to Castle Douglas:

Re: What song are you listening to?

Big liar that I am, one more. This band never sounded better than this, and they were in Glasgow when they did it. AC/DC - Bad Boy Boogie. Posted it before, but hey:

Re: Rebus

It's a funny thing, Taggart: looking back on old episodes (which they all are now, I suppose) I find myself liking Mark McManus's seemingly defiant non-acting style more.

Re: Rebus

I can't say I'm convinced. I'd try it, all the same. A long haggis supper - aye! Anent Rebus, I'll confess that I still haven't read the books, but of those I've asked about it, the east coast consensus seems to be that Hannah has the appearance (if a bit young and clean) but Ken Stott gets the worl...

Re: What song are you listening to?

More Nirvana here, I'm afraid, and particularly Drain You, though I quite like the racket that follows (Endless, Nameless):

Re: What song are you listening to?

Reminiscing about Nirvana, who in turn reminisced about the Vaselines. Those of us left reminisce about John Peel. Waah!

Re: Staglieno

It is quite something. How on earth is it possible to learn how to carve stone so it looks like fine cloth? Amazing.

Re: Petrochemicals from Linn Park

Great find and a great bit of digging to get the info! You should bring it to the attention of this site http://www.scottishshale.co.uk/index.html as they don’t seem to have any record of this and I’m sure they would be very intrested in the remains of the retort, there can’t be many of these left....

Re: Edinburgh

Not actually part of Doors Open this year, I happened to see some photos on Flickr from a few years back of the interior of an old church now called the Mansfield Traquair Centre, just off the foot of Broughton Street. I've passed the place any number of times, but never imagined it was anything rem...

All at a standstill yet on site, I take it?
