Re: Glasgow Zoo

After all the recent fuss about visiting the zoo. I decided to take a trip there today to check it out. Here are my pictures from today's visit. Tyres everywhere almost tripped a few times because of the wire left from those that were set on fire. http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn254/Verbal_Kint...

Re: Woolies in Administration:

Seems to be further discounts now. I popped into the big W in Parkhead for some xmas cards but ended up buying a few things including a 1gb USB stick sized Sony mp3 player for £6.

Re: Woolies in Administration:

Well thought I would pop in today since the media have been hyping up today's closing sale. Place was packed however it appears no changes have been made. I was hoping for a 50% off on all stock and quickly made my way to the games counters for some PC, PS3 and Wii games only to find out a paltry 10...

Woolies: are all the stores closing soon I am really trying to get a Lego Advent calendar but not having much luck thought they may be the best approach if they are still trading.

Re: Woolies in Administration:

Good old Jan Stepek , the Lanarkshire electricals king (and Hamilton Accies man). I remember the adverts, but I don't recall ever seeing a Glenns, Hutchison or Robertson shop. Was it a regional consortium, with one retailer to each area? There is still a Glens in Byres road as far as i am aware unl...

Re: Past Present Vol 2

In the absence of tram wires may I suggest that it is a rail line leading to Scotstoun Good yards as shown in the above map. The tram came off the line at Primrose Street. Thanks for the correction Dex. I knew there was something fishy about my reply should have dug the book out first and I would h...

Re: Past Present Vol 2

As far as I am aware the lines come from the old tram depot on south street heading under the railway towards Dumbarton road. There is a photo showing a tram off the rails at the intersection at Dumbarton road at the Scotstoun Emporium its featured in a book I have of old Scotstoun and Whiteinch if ...
