you certainly made the most of your helicopter ride!! These photos are absolutely stunning. I've saved them to my favourites.

Re: Walking stick for Grannie Brigit

Grannie Brigit, I have just returned from a lovely holiday in Banchory on Royal Deeside. Many of the shops in the general area sell basically everything…including walking sticks. Examples are Gordon Stores in Aboyne and BA Stores in the middle of nowhere, but not far from Aberdeen. There is also thi...

Re: ABANDONED & DISUSED RAILWAYS: High St - Bridgeton Central

Jonathan, great pictures as usual. One of the most striking features for me is the quality of brickwork in the tunnel entrances. Look at the very first photo for example. The workmanship is just superb. It’s a great pity the tunnels can’t be properly cleaned to reveal the original red sandstone. Thi...

Re: Election, June 4, @ your local polling place

Certainly didn't vote for BNP. My polling station was deserted. I voted at lunchtime. I noticed that when my name was scored out, only one other person on the sheet had voted!! The sooner this can be done online the better.

Re: Class 380 EMU Desiro Mock - Up In Glasgow Central Today

Great pics as ever Jonathan.
Will the front of all these trains have a gangway or door? No doubt it is a very functional design, but not very streamlined or pleasing to the eye.

Re: Gallus

Asked my colleagues today at work what “Gallus” means. Everyone had their own ideas. One agreed with me that it referred only to males. Most said it referred to both gender. Two said that part of being gallus was to be very assertive almost aggressive. Not so sure I agree on this score. All my colle...

Re: Scottish West Highlands Adevntures

Jonathan,
again, these photos are just stunning. There's hardly a cloud in the sky!! I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Oban that's not dull and grey!! I cannot believe how busy Oban looks. You certainly show what a beautiful country Scotland is.

Re: Gallus

Gallus was always a male thing for me. No? I never heard of a girl ever being called gallus. It was more than being confident and having a swagger. For me a gallus person had to have some of the following: • Be male; • Be good looking; • Have good patter; • Wear trendy gear; • Be very popular with t...

Re: What song are you listening to?

Have just seen the brilliant Star Trek movie at the IMAX. Anyway, the wife informs my eldest son “Of course, there’s a Star Trek song”. He immediately checks it out on You Tube. Remember the one which goes “Star trekkin across the universe. In the spaceship Enterprise under Captain Kirk….” Whole fam...

Re: The Co-op Building...

I can’t believe that such an impressive building in a prime location has not been snapped up by a developer. It’s always such a great shame to such wonderful Glasgow architecture going this way.

Re: Old Jordanhill - Victoria Park Branch & Scotstoun East

Jonathan, every time I look at your photographs I feel like putting on my anorak. I cannot honestly say I’m that interested in the topic of Scotland’s railways. You clearly have a great knowledge of the subject. I do, however, love looking at your photographs. The quality of them is just superb. You...

Re: City Centre glass grille collection

What's below these grills? Is it some kind of basement? For storing barrels of beer?

Re: Italy

Me and my mate decided to go to Italy by train few years back. Didn't know where to go though. Took a map of Italy down the pub. Got steamin' and decided to go half way down the boot on the right hand side. So a few weeks later we did and ended up in a place called Pescara. We camped in a dog shit c...
