No problem. Looks like a breathtaking building, if a bit eerie in places.

Anyone know how much is still left? Heard that the whole thing was completely flattened! 8O

Instead we would, in effect, degrade the public transport system by redirecting investment into the road and motorway system. Hence the whole knackered transport system we now have. In these circumstances, the very suitability of St Enochs as a cross-city centre was probably a main factor in the de...

Just noticed there are 4 arches in total - one at each corner of George Square. I think my eyes need tested! 8O

Re: Arches in Royal Exchange Square

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/schiehallion/LayingFoundationStoneCityChambers18.jpg Does anyone else think that the arches in the various photos look as if they are astride the roadways (George Street and Cochrane Street) rather than within the City Chambers site? Well looking again at the ...

It's St Enoch station before it was flattened, looking east along the platforms. Building on the left hand side is the back of Debenhams/HMV/Virgin on Argyle St.

Cheers for clearing that up! :) I just always thought it odd how they only joined on to the old Royal Bank at the top of the structure, and not at the base. Saying that, the wee gap at either side is sometimes useful for dodging the big issue salesmen who always seems to stand there! ::): I suppose ...

Arches in Royal Exchange Square

It might just be me, but has anyone else ever wondered about the stone arches at either side of Borders books, at the back of the GOMA? If you notice, they don't seem to fit into the gap between the buildings, as if they've been transplanted from somewhere else? The pillars seem to match the ones at...

Yeah, some great pics there. I remember the clock at Cumbernauld shopping center, and wondering where it had come from. I'm assuming it was the one attatched to the roof structure in those photos, and not the smaller looking one above the departures board? One thing that's always puzzled me though, ...

This would be just about where the new Argyle Line tunnel from Kelvinhaugh Junction would burst into the formation of the original Caley formation. Do those tunnels join up, the same as the other ones down by the Exhibition Centre station? Also, I was walking to Burger King for lunch today from (ai...

Here's a map from 1547 http://www.theglasgowstory.com/imageview.php?inum=TGSA00524 Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I've noticed something after looking at various maps of the area. If you extend the line of High street ignoring the bend, it will line up perfectly with Castle street. Could j...

Think it was Birdie you were meaning, not James.... These are some map scans of Glasgow showing some disused tunnels in the area. They may be helpful in your explorations. Birdie http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/45168/glasgow1.jpg http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/45168/glasgow2.jpg Al
