Hiya, There are various brands doing a similar photo-quality paper, I use one from http://www.comsumablemad.co.uk. However you'll probably find that the colour isn't quite as good as if you were using the Epson branded paper (on an Epson printer of course), I tend to use the cheaper stuff when i'm n...

Schiehallion, I can't produce figures for my argument but I do live in the area and from what I can tell there is a significant population of young students living in the 'yuppy' flats. Plus my SO happens to work for GCC Housing Benefits and they do pay out on quiet a lot of new flats. Regeneration ...

It always makes me laugh when i hear the term 'yuppy flats' being thrown around, are we still living in the eighties? Most of the new developments are occupied by students or dss tennants (ok maybe not owner-occupied). as for the beco building... tear it down, its not exactly of architectural merit,...

Every tired cliche about gays is recycled including their choice of music. I don't really see how a choice of music is a gay cliche? It might not be to everyone's liking but whats up with that? Personally their particular type of telly doesn't really appeal to me but its good to see Glasgow people ...

Hiya, Happy New Year HG! I think 2006 was a fantastic year for music, highlight of which were: Nouvelle Vague – Bande a Part (excellent covers of punk & new wave classics) The Zutons – Tired of Hanging Around Artic Monkeys – Whatever People Say I Am... Wolfmother – Wolfmother My Chemical Romance...

one for the web-meister

hiya, i run a couple of phpbb forums (some of you might be familiar with one of them), i'm having a lot of problems with fecking spam posters at the moment. I was wondering how the HG forum deals with this problem? My version of phpbb is up-to-date and i've turned on visual confirmation when new use...

I used Freecycle recently when we moved office, got rid of loads of old Apple Mac kit... the response was astonishing especially considering the age of some of it (Mac IIs and old scsi drives). The dilema was who to give the stuff to, empoverished students or primary schools (to name but two of the ...

I saw a seagull the other day trying to swallow down a rat, the rat was 'kin huge but dead (probably poisoned).

Its Glasgow vermin wars 2006 - my money's on the pigeons although the squirrels can be quite sneaky too (sadly they have a geographic and numbers disadvantage).

The bells...

Hiya, Does anyone know anything about the chimes of the clock tower on the gallowgate? I've been trying to figure out the frequency and number of chimes and frankly i'm puzzled. It seems to chime on the quarter-hour (but not always) and the number of chimes doesn't seem to relate to the hour. I actu...

I'm currently living in and loving the city centre, the noise ain't too bad (being on a fourth floor helps), would definatley recommend it although both West End and Shawlands have their merits.
