Re: What song are you listening to?

Got this old favourite today at LP Records; some of it still sounds good. Samplers like this were very important to young, skint record buyers like me. Re: HG Movie Critique.

RDR, you ask "is it a patch on that?" Not sure really, it's a film of the first book whereas the tv version covered all three books in the Quair. It's getting mixed reviews and my son didn't care for it all; he saw it first, I babysat, but it didn't put me off. Hope you'll go too and let u...

Re: HG Movie Critique.

Went to see 'Sunset Song' last night and loved it, warts and all. Will re-read it soon and watch the '70s BBC version with Vivien Helibron which is on YouTube. Sadly , there were only six people in the cinema and when my son saw it on Friday night - in Brixton - there were only nine. Durachdan, Eddy...

Re: What Are You Currently Reading

Finished "The Driver's Seat", I think it's Spark's strangest novel and was rather unsettling.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading

Just downloaded Muriel Spark's "The Driver's Seat" after hearing it discussed on "A Good Read" on Radio 4 this afternoon. Surprised to find myself agreeing with Niall Fergusson on RLS - am I going soft or is he not as bad as he thinks he is? Durachdan, Eddy http://www.bbc.co.uk/p...

Enjoyed "The Lady in the Van " at the Grosvenor the other night - terrific performance by Maggie Smith. Very sad though.

Pub Grub

Lunch with my daughter today at Lebowski's on Argyle St. in Finnieston. Very good, very cheap - well there's lots of competition -with very good service and an interesting selection of music too. Under £12 for soup and open beef sandwich - served pink - and a beer and a goat's cheese and red onion s...

Re: Whit's fur tea?

Had breakfast at Cup/Gin Bar in Renfield St. this morning and won't need to eat again, ever. Muesli, three sliders - bacon, sausage, poached egg - two pastries and a scone with butter and jam. Huge pot of proper tea.

Re: What song are you listening to?

The Beatles No.1 on CD and DVD. They're brilliant at getting us, well me anyway,to buy things we already have.
