Thanks for that link, great to see the craft in motion with sound.

The Hovercraft Museum provided me with some stills and data on the craft, but not quite as impressive as seeing it in operation.

my last post was pointed at appolo, and when was it against the law to voice your opinnion,no matter if it is the E.U or not ,if these ferries are supposed to be progress then take us back to the sixties, maybe my cost of the ferries were wrong but that makes no difference to the fact that they are ...

Only one or two hopefuls held out until dark'o'clock when I headed for the polls, and he looked really upset when I said "No thanks" to the little scrap of paper he offered. I wasn't quite sure if he was about to burst into tears or hit me with it - so carried on quickly! I was kind of sor...

The naming ceremony is scheduled for today (Friday 4th May) at Rothesay. I'm always most impressed by the bravery shown by those who will not be subject to any legal action arising from failure to comply with EU regulations, when they advise those that may, to take a stand against them. The new ferr...

I have to admit that the conspiracy theories around 911 have never generated any real interest for me, possibly because their summaries are just too fantastic to make seem like worth spending any time on, and possibly because they seem to be massively complex, and demanding of too much time to revie...

I think I mentioned this under another subject way back, but I got the 'Security Guard Treatment' in Princes Square while taking some pics for the archives, just after it opened. Boxed in by two Brick Sh**houses I wasn't arguing, but could picture arriving in Buchanan Street post-haste if I'd protes...

What Dugald said, plus a consideration that the events and people we are discussing were living in wartime Britain/Scotland of 1940, not the media and celebrity hungry world of 2007. I don't believe David McLean would have been paid anything other than a few coppers, if anything, for his story. mayb...

I never knew the name of the West Machrihanish battery; never knew it had a name. You're probably aware too of the one on the Kilbrannen Sound part of the peninsula near Kircousland (I have no idea of the spelling!). I came across some more detailed historic research on the area, and have found out...

Multimap revamp - bad new for conspiracists

If you haven't found this already, multimap.com have relaunched their mapping services using AJAX to get the same 'look & feel' as Google map etc. The development is not quite finished, with some of the more useful features of their 'old school' operation (such as OS views) to be brought online,...

Opportunity for a Tam Shepard moment, from the archives. If you're only getting one square, it might as well be interesting. Tam's toilet roll, sold for years, even well after the original artwork appeared 'dated':- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/Portkil/hig/tsbog13.jpg http://img.photobucke...

Funnily enough, the drivel about the 'missing' bullet wound was produced by yet another author with a book to publicise and sell to make a buck out of the event, and was based only his own 'expert' suppositions, which he strangely, was unable to later produce any records to validate: More imaginativ...

Planet Celebrity - Where reality takes on a whole new meaning.

They really are a waste of skin.

I bet the daft b* never took any account of all the pollution the press and fans produced while following her as she toured the US on a biodiesel-powered bus to raise awareness about climate change.

As far as I know, the finding in 2005 regarding Ferguson's claims of illegal subsidies was not upheld an no evidence was put forward to substantiate the claim: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Government/FOI/Disclosures/2005/09/polish/polish1 And, this finding was used with regard to later tenders ...
