I was a volunteer car conservator for nine months. I have some below stairs pictures if someone can remind me how to upload using photobucket I will post some photos.
I remember being in the public toilet at Govan Cross many years ago(late 80's) and I was sure it had masonic decoration(eg eye, compass etc) yet the next time I was there in the 90's it was gone. Am I imagining things ?
Hi, I believe the coloured brick style is called polychromatic and not polychrome. The white staining from bricks is salt leaching out. This is called efflorescence.

I dont know if this is of any interest, The Transport Museum has in its collection(not on public display) a lot of machinery relating to Glasgow's tram system. I spent a bit of time there as a voluntary conservator and saw some wonderful things including the giraffe they had in storage !
