I am a big Iain Banks fan and have often thought it would be good to have an online source of the places mentioned in his books, in Glasgow and further afield. There are loads of places mentioned in Espedair Street and a few in The Crow Road, The Bridge and The Wasp Factory. The good thing is a lot ...

I'd like to second the recommendation for Jessops. They use Fuji based printers which produce proper contone prints, the only downside is that you don't always get the colour balance that you expect though the printer interface does give you a bit of room for correction. Not bad for a few 'snappy sn...

I was once accosted by a person of no fixed abode on London Bridge and for some reason I replied to his plead for cash with "Sorry mate, i've got no hands", even though my hands were quite visible. Dunno what made me say this but it had a great effect, leaving the guy quite stupified. My wife can't ...

Does anyone have a pic of the 'Blobs' behind the BT building on Clyde Street? I'll probably take one on my way to work tomorrow anyway. I must remember to photograph the tree at the courier corner on Blythswood Square, if anyone gets the chance go take a look at what they've done with the cuddly toy...

I totally despise adverts, which is funny considering I work in the advertising industry. It doesn't matter how funny/clever they are, its still people trying to sell you shit that you don't need or want. And why is it that all the ad breaks seem to happen at the same time (on digital tv at least)? J

There used to be one at St Enochs, I was in it once to make a statement. Unfortunately it wasn't bigger on the inside than out. Very functional looking though.

I'v seen signs for the Roman fort and know roughly where it should be, just never been able to pinpoint it exactly. there is a roman bathhouse which is well preserved and also a roman bridge. there are some great ruins all around the woods which date from the Hamilton dynasty also.

I am moving to that area next week and am excited about the redevelopment plans (i quite like the bendy bridge design). I have been reading about the m74 extension plans though and can't work out if it will be a good or bad thing? feeling is that the city planners have got it well wrong and us taxpa...
