Thanks. Just so happens I'm at caley, with the building in front of me as I type this :). Not been into Heatherbank so far though, will have to go in for a wee look.

I do know they're running an exhibition about Lennox Castle from 11th November, which should be worth checking out.

Just noticed another one while taking the scenic route to Edinburgh via the suburban line.

It was on the left hand side on the way to Edinburgh, round about Shotts IIRC. Sorry I can't be more specific :?

I would love to see any photos you have, as I definitely have a soft spot for these amazing beasts. Its a shame that most people now simply regard them as dirty, smelly trains, totally ignorant of the fact that they were responsible for a huge leap in Glasgow's transport system. Anyway, it seems tha...

Madhouses

 Ahem.. yes. Appropriate smiley though! Does anyone happen to have a detailed list of mental homes that exist(ed) in the Glasgow area, or indeed, even central Scotland? So far I know of Woodilee, Lennox Castle, Bellsdyke, Gartloch, Gartnavel, Leverndale, and the RSNH in Larbert. Bonus point...

Blue trains / 303s

Anyone remember these? Ahhh... the memories! http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~sprocket/bluetrain/Interior.JPG http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~sprocket/bluetrain/Cabview.JPG Hard to believe that they're still soldiering on, and on (and on..). Doubt they'll be around much longer though.. I wonder if I'm the only...

I'm just back from Bowling.. I decided to go for a leisurely stroll today  . Very nice 8) I also took a wander and found the remains of a certain distillery, which are also very ruined, dark, and interesting.. albeit in a much more 'lets go for a picnic' kind of way. Oh.. and I love dogs...

We got a good look around the 60's building, but unfortunatley the demolition crew managed to knock down a streetlight, cutting our trip a bit short. The two things which stood out in particular to me were both the incredible amount of light, and the strange peacefulness about the place. There is ab...

Bowling and Dalmuir are both a 5 min cycle from here (Old Kilpatrick), so I might get some pics if I have some spare time soon.

Not sure how easy it is to get into the oil terminal though. Any ideas?

Glasgow Central Station

For a while I've been trying to find some info on the 'other' platform in the Low Level. Being what feels like a wee yin myself (I'm only 20.. bless), I never knew anything about it.. until I read this page: http://abandoned.urbanexploration.org/mkg/arg-01.htm The paragraph at the bottom in particul...
