Yes, I don't understand this concept of having the correct change for buses. Silly silly. I grew up with bus drivers in the Highlands who were willing to give change, and still do, even though it's a city!! Not that I take the bus very often at home. It's probably only Highland bus drivers who can ...

.................. Where are all those who park there going to go. Yes, they will park further out and get a bus into town! What's the point in that? Would it not be better to get a bus from where you live. ................... Parking is one of the subjects which I could bore profesionally on. Rece...

One other thing worries me. Why the fixation in all the stories on so-called kerb-crawlers? Is this yet another ploy to make it easy to grab a soft target? Don't pickup happen in pubs, clubs, hotels, streets etc? Is it an easy way to collar some statistics by grabbing males in cars moving slowly, w...

Re: Red Light for Red Light

It's the oldest profession and it's under threat. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4619098.stm Reading between the lines I reckon they want to abolish it because they cannae effectively tax it. It must be universally acknowledged that prostitution can't be controlled, far less abolished. The real prob...

Prices would be helpful - I have been charged different prices for much the same journey the past three or four times I've been on the bus, I suspect the driver is making it up. :? Would it not be easier just to remember how much it cost the first time and offer the driver the same fare every time?

I ran the 'Bothwell Castle' site past a chum from up near Baron's Haugh.

He related a tale of a couple in the castle car park who had attracted a small crowd. Suddenly the cry went up "It's the polis" The lady replied "Tell them to wait their turn"

Glasgow Fringe Festival 11 to 29 January 2006

An affordable and enjoyable alternative to Celtic Disconnections. No longer do you need to be a European blues man, an American Country and Western band, a former member of Battlefield Band or sleeping with someone semi famous just to get a gig. To my knowledge nobody has cancelled, no fire alarms h...

............I remember the Greggs at the top of Queen St. corner of George Sq. used to have a sit-in bit downstairs. It used to be a City Bakeries Lite Bite and i think it was also an Oliver's for a while but Greggs kept the seating area going for a while. There used to be a wonderful Lite Bite in ...
