Milk Crate Gang

Here is the last remaining link to thr Orginal 'Milk Crate Gang', once the pioneer of Glasgow's subterranean rail network. It is a much missed site. particularly those of us who didn't have internet connections way back in the early days. OK! some of you may have found it, but for those who have yet...

Or for the man about town there was 'Midas' in St Vincent Street (down stairs) also further up the 'Saint & Sinners' that is now King Tuts. My usual Port of call was either 'The Warehouse' or it's neighbour 'Mardis Gras' Plenty of top house tunes way back in the early days. (listen up kids) A re...

Yeah! Woolly I just noticed that new sign a couple of weeks ago. Too bad 'Irn Bru' outsells any other brand of soft drink in only one place in the whole world. Yup! Scotland..... My heart bleeds for the global multi-national Cola Co. that just can't quite cut it with us free thinking Scots. There's ...

Irn Bru

Found this pic of the last Irn Bru sign that used to be situated on the roofspace of Glasgow Central Station. I took this pic in December 1984, it's not very clear but those of you who remember it will figure it out. It's just above the 'Bell's' whiskey sign. Also long gone. Anyone got a picture of ...

Pollockshaws Tollbooth

Anyone no the history behind this building?

It's now been illuminated, making a startling focal point at night.
It also changes colour every other day.

Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade: Don't make me laugh! he should have been taken to Trading Standards. Spiderman was about the only toon he showed and even had the cheek to cut it short so you had to tune in the following week. Yeah! and while I'm at it, what was it with adults adding insult ...

PSYGEOCONFLUX 2004

Jim, That is a great quote (i'm assuming it was a quote;-) If more of us so called citizens opened our eye's to the 'All encompassing urbane mediocrity' that passes for Modern Living, perhaps we would have a better tomorrow that can be handed down to the next lot?! whoever they may be? And rightly s...

Argyle Model Dockyard

I remember it being right under the 'Umbrella'. It had a modern brick like facade above the shop bearing the 'Argyle Model Dockyard' in illuminated yellow lettering. Well at least in the early 1980's. It wasn't a place for kids to spend their pocket money though as the stuff they sold was all a bit ...

Re: Glasgow Central, It originaly only had 9 platforms when it opened circa 1879. Foundations are 45ft below street level BTW! Surprisingly platforms 2-8 ran much further into the station than they do presently. Almost reaching the Gordon Street entrance. If they were still there they would almost c...

There's also one still standing on platform 1 in Kilmarnock Station.

It even reeks of p*ss. Hows that for authenticity?
