Re: Credit or Debit card.

I use a credit card for most purchases, similar to others, mainly because of the security if something goes wrong, booked a holiday with it once, statement came in with the minimum payment and a caption saying that if you pay the minimum, the estimated interest next month will be higher than the amo...

Re: Ancestory

I've thought about doing some research in this area, but, mainly due to ignorance, have never quite got around to it. A cousin of mine did some digging, she said some of the main problems were the repetition of christian names , slight variations in the spelling of the surname, lack of explanation f...

Re: the secret lavvy network: the true meaning

There was one at Queens Cross, the junction of Maryhill Road and Garscube Road across from the Rennie Mackintosh church, there was also one at Georges Cross, the end of Maryhill Road. I only recall seeing gents, were they all men only or were some for ladies?

Re: Where did you have your first pint(Legal or Ill)

First illegal was in a place called Alpha (I think) on St Vincent Street, remember my pal, who had been there before nearly fainting when I asked for a pint of export instead of heavy, well, it said export on the cans. First legal would have been Shadows on Bath Street after work.

Re: random question

I'm hoping this is a thread for any random question that comes to mind, look at the bottom of the page where on line people are listed, some have [Bot] after their username, what does this mean?

Re: Who are you supporting in the World Cup?

The only place I've seen the ABE shirts for sale is HMV - an English company with it's registered office in Berkshire! I wonder how we would feel if we went into a shop in England or some other country and saw Anyone But Scotland t-shirts. Personally I hope they do well but I agree with earlier post...

Re: HG Poll

Josef has just posted an item on What's On In Glasgow regarding the next HG drinks night, this is the chance for the lurkers or those who are a bit apprehensive about meeting a bunch of total strangers to bite the bullet and go. You never know ... you might enjoy it.

Re: Elections - May 6-2010

by Dave on Mon May 10, 2010 10:23 pm Well, Gordon Browns popularity has been up for debate for some time. I always thought his lack of popularity in England was, partly anyway, down to the fact he is a scot, he also had his fair share of bad luck with the global economic downturn, the expenses scan...

Re: Elections - May 6-2010

Does anyone else think Gordon Brown's resignation speech had a hidden message, it was about how he would take responsibility for his part in not achieving an overall majority and that he would step down. The other two are in the same boat. Also, next time you watch the news, count the number of time...
