Re: Is this board too heavily moderated?

My tuppence worth, if someone takes the time to start a general thread on a topic that is of interest to them, is not offensive, litigious or insulting, why delete it? It will either generate discussion or, if not, it will gradually slide down the list of topics into oblivion. There have been times ...

north glasgow dave wrote:2 metre high snow drifts forecast 8O

I read 3 different forecasts yesterday. Predictions for today ranged from heavy snow to sunny spells. I got the impression they were trying to cover every possibility, just so they could say 'told you so' whatever the weather.

Re: TV/Plasma Repairs

Me again, telly is all fixed, but it has became apparent that I need to do something about the aerial situation in the house, (seriously, one door opens and another one slams in your face) could anyone recommend a tv aerial installation person/company. I know this is the second ask in a reasonably s...

Re: Have you got any snow?

Nice to look at and great fun for the kids but a pain in the bahooky for getting around - the main roads in the east end and the motorway are really bad apparently. Couldn't happen on a worse day - Sunday - no traffic, people or cars, to keep the roads and pavements clear, get set for for chaos tom...

Re: Fitba' referees.

When you have the benefit of instant replay from multiple cameras its easy to criticise a decision. The refs have no such luxury and they still get the majority of decisions right. I have seen pundits analysing replays from different angles who can't agree on whether the ref's decision was right or...

Re: Fitba' referees.

I think there will be a solidarity of referees from different nations, if they do stick to their strike plans, it will be difficult to get replacements, can you imagine we get stand in referees and one/some of them have a howler? I also think football could learn from rugby where they use video refe...

Re: Forgotten Pubs & Clubs in Glasgow

when did the georgic get womens toilets installed.. Good question. I used to drink in there, when I worked in that part of the city in the late 70's early 80's, when it didn't have any. I seem to remember when they eventually were installed there was a whole load of articles about it, primarily in ...

Made up words and phrases - bifidus digestivum - mainly used by yoghurt producers.

Re: Historic River Kelvin Walk - Sunday 14th November

Me too, thanks to the old-stagers Moi!! I'm a relative novice. I do think I might have underestimated the 'wet and squidgy' bit .... Really wished I'd been in Scotland to come along to this - might try and walk it next time I'm up. Any maps required or is it a fairly obvious route? I would say it's...
