Re: Negative scanners

Mac, does the 4490 generally come with a holder that'll take 6x12 shots? Been tinkering with some MF pinhole stuff recently and getting a good scan seems harder than figuring out the reciprocity failure....

Re: Taking Photographs - The Legal Perspective

It's more than a little distressing really, on several levels. I can't help but think it's all got to come to a head at some point. With just about everything we own having a camera built into it somewhere it's almost impossible to enforce these rules, regardless of how morally or legally questionab...

Re: Black & White Photography

No viewfinder: less point and shoot than point and hope. And wait. I know it's roughly equivalent to 19mm field of view when shooting 6x12 though, which helps no end.

Re: Black & White Photography

Cheers guys. Been quite refreshing to just go out and take pictures without worrying about focus, filters or anything like that! It definitely strips everything right down to the bare minimum anyway.... Though the 10 day wait to get your film back is killing me: guess I'm not quite ready to give up ...

Re: Black & White Photography

Thought that I'd try my hand at pinhole. At least it must have seemed like a good idea at some point: a good night with a bottle of talisker and a few days later I had a wee wooden box with a tiny hole in the front arrive coutesty of a late night eBay session.... Still, quite chuffed with the result...

Scottish Press Photography and Red Road Flats exhibition

Thought that a few folks on here might be interested in this. Was passing and noticed it in the window - well worth stopping for a look!

Re: HG's Best Threads

Some cracking threads - looks like my reading for the next few days is sorted. Tried to have a look at the Past Present one and there are more missing photos than there are photos still there! Would it be worth trying to get them back online?

Re: New Transport Museum at Riverside

The Tall Ship has always been a great venue! Been to a few nights out on there and you can't beat it. Not been to the new Transport Museum yet but looking forward to taking a wander down that way next week. Hear a few folk saying they didn't like the high exhibits but I guess you can't please everyo...

Sounds like it's worth a try - gotta be cheaper than shelling out for a ring flash!

Re: Can someone help with lens size

The 10-20mm will be fairly hopeless for macro. Never used the 50mm you linked but Canin do a great EF-S 60mm macro that is well worth picking up.
