But my sister's chippie has just been shortlisted for the the Best UK Fish & Chip Shop 2006!!! It's in Mintlaw near Fraserburgh though...

My pal worked in there in the kitchens as a student...

Told me they used to hose down the frozen chickens with hot water to defrost them.....and this was a hospital!

Leaving 16 year old daughter at home so don't fancy calling out an emergency ferry when the neighbours call to complain about the noise.... I love Arran. Maybe for the second or third trip.... got to say my preferred mode of accomodation when travelling round Scotland is B&Bs - much better value...

Applecross was one of the places we camped when I was a youngster. Rained all the time - but yes remember it as being spectacular. Drive there was hairy - especially in old battered car with poor gears and malfunctioning handbrake.....

Had a lovely meal last night at Urban Grill in Shawlands... food was excellent and although full of "beautiful people", it had a really nice atmosphere. House white was very nice too...
