Hidden Britain?

Perhaps a new umbrella site (hiddenscotland, hiddenuk....etc) is needed to broaded the scope of the HiddenGlasgow project?

Any thoughts?

This has got to be the ultimate alternative guide to the sites of the world!! Certainly off the tourist routes, perhaps getting a bit more of a true view.

Otherwise id recommend a http://www.google.com search for "glasgow harbour development" or search the archives of the glasgow herald or evening times ( you can do this if you visit their websites...

Importance of "landmark buildngs" to identity

Perhaps prompted by the demolishin of the granary... i was wondering... "How important are landmark buildings like the granary to the local peoples sense of identity and belonging?" Love the idea of oil terminals :D - i think i know what boatyard you might mean...i 'll try and dredge up some photos of it....although from what i recall they were victim of a shaky camera!

I was speaking to a guy yesterday...he reckoned that the 1960 building was still in use until a year and a half ago. They were still exporting grain at that point.
