There is a quadrangle of tenements in Springboig(1946)which are clearly based on the Karlmarxhof in Vienna. That(They) are absolutely brilliant i love 20's,30's,40's,50's buildings.

Did the monument not used to be situated below the motorway at the top of the High Street. I seem to remember being shown it by my grandfather round about 1974. I went back many years later there was no plaque there and the place just stank of pee and loads of empty lager cans lay strewn about.

As far as i was led to believe the Citroen and the plate belonged to the President of the RAC members club based in Blytheswood Square back in the mid to late 50's. The French pronounce the letters DS as Deesee which means Goddess.
