Re: Glasgow train accidents

Unfortunately. personal injury or death on the railway where there was no actual collision or derailment would not be classified as a "railway accident", therefore there would not be an official investigation and report. Such incidents would most likely be investigated by the local British...

Re: The Glasgow, Paisley & Ardrossan Canal

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the location in the bottom photograph was once the only place in Scotland where a four track railway line crossed a four track railway line.

Re: Cyclists in Glasgow?

Dont see anything about the big groups of a**holes that clutter up the roads around Eaglesham on a Sunday morning, sometimes up to a couple of dozen lycra clad clowns that refuse to allow traffic to pass. Makes me want to drive a snowplough

Re: Travelling from Glasgow before the Railway Age

For a good while the recognised route from Glasgow to London was train from Glasgow to Ardrossan, steamer from Ardrossan to Heysham, then train from Heysham to London

Re: Helicopter crash on Clutha Vaults

mercury wrote:The helicopter was flying about over Polmadie Road/M74 area for quite a while tonight.

To make things even more unfortunate it appears that the reason for the chopper to be in the area was reports of a trespasser or body on the railway line, something which later was found to be a hoax call.
