crusty there is a book for sale on amazon(hope its ok to mention them) called -the forth bridge by sheila mackay. judging by the front cover which is all you can see on the site, its full of photos of the construction of said bridge. i will maybe even invest £12.99 of my beer money on it :wink:

norrie try http://www.theglasgowstory.com . when you get there search for mayfair cinema and you will find an old photo of the cinema which was situated at sinclair drive in battlefield until the late 70s :)

cobblestones at Barrowfield

On my way to parkhead as a kid, i was always captivated by the goals and boot and ball that was designed into the cobblestones at Barrowfield .I think the street it was situated in was Camlachie,roughly across from the where the kyc is now.anyone know the story behind it? I was told it was in memory...

enlighten me someone please. why do none of the streets in my lovely(sic) scheme have a number 13 :?: was this a bout of post-war superstitious hysteria by our city fathers or is there another reason? sorry but these are the things that keep me awake at night...
