The Nikon D40 is a good body at a competitive price but at 6MP resolution you're likely to grow out of it if SLR photography is what you want. The D80 offers much more options and 10MP but, well, costs more. Likewise the same dilemma if you look at Canon's range. I have a pile of Nikon lenses and us...

Pipex working 'as advertised'. No frills, no crappy modified browser like AOHell and recently upgraded to potential 8 megs at the same price. Excellent connectivity in last 3 years, mebbe stopped working twice only.

Yes - i teach the lil' darlins to drive.
Megabus sometimes to Glasgow. Train ridiculously dear from Dundee, underground - yes. Wherever possible. Never been on it in London but Milan and Berlin as well as 'the' underground.
Bike? Occasionally pedal. M/C - yes.
