There was a big pram shop at the Trongate.cant remember the name..way back in the 60s... also another one in High st near College street.. Some other weans clothes shops were Isobel Towns in Main st Brideton.. Hatricks London road at Heron st Bridgeton. the lovely shop in Duke st.. name escapes me.....

Oh I thought Robertpool referred to dead bodies.. I wouldnt think many came back at all or not many, I think the ones buried here were maybe shipped home injured and died here. could be wrong though.. maybe it depended if they died at the end of the war and were brought home. Its so sad for families...

Not sure if these shops were only at Parkhead or not but Campbells had a few shops in Tollcross road... and our Coops that were everwhere at one time.. In London road Bridgeton. we had a Co shoe bakers. drapers. dairy, shoe shop and a shop that did lights and furniture..

Margaret Forresters in London road at Bain st... the building is still there but the big shop long gone.. whether this was a chaind of shops or not I dont know.. then we had all the tailors..
