I thought the subway would have originally operated the same as the mainline stations in the upkeep Instead of the contract cleaners that only seem to mop the platforms in certain bits Is Ibrox the only station to have hanging basket around the outside of the building (Don't think they have anythin...

::): touché. I was thinking more Executive and Parliament tho :) Who'd want the ugly parliament cluttering Glasgow! I actually chuckle, the Executives offices in Leith are nice as office blocks go. As for EARL and the trams- I don't see what trams give over buses than giving the city an 'ego' boost...

I think we all here are in agreement with your humble opinion Flying Scot, just not anyone in a position to do anything about it! But then, why expand the subway system in Glasgow when you live, or at least work, in Edinburgh? :P But surely Transport Scotland displaced their offices to Glasgow ::):

I don't know- I think a subway expansion, could do a lot for traffic in the City- far more than the M74 extension IMHO! I belive a subway line would be more cost effective than the Clyde Fastlink etc, that is proposed. London already has a good heavy-rail system, but has added numerous underground s...

or go to Tesco St Rollox, Asda Bearsden, Tesco Milngavie, Tesco Coatbridge, Asda Coatbridge BUT boycott Morrisons, theyre bully-boys to staff. And you think Tesco are much better? I knew an assistant manager at Tesco who was embarressed at the way the company treated it's employees. Supermarkets ar...

It was alot worse when most of the buses turned down the side of Debenhams. First person to be killed on that corner was in my year at school.... not a close friend, but a friend. The current traffic lights change quite rapidly in favour of pedestrians and they include a countdown between the red a...

Something else I noticed yesterday afternoon was the frequency of the trains was really high around half 4/5 - every station from Hillhead to Buchanan Street a train passed - they must have been running about every two minutes for that to happen. Extra trains to cater for the christmas shoppers? Th...

Someone who can walk 9 holes of golf on a good day shouldn't qualify for a disabled badge. Whether there's been as mistake made, or whether they've filled the form in on the basis of a bad day, I don't know. You clearly don't understand the system, the criterion is that the applicant is "unabl...

I'm very surprised that if you condition is as bad as you state that you cannot get a disabled badge. I've seen healthier people manage to get them, and I'm interested that you don't qualify. If you really struggle with energy you are deserving of one, so thats a stange one. What are you trying to ...

Go for it Ken, get yourself a wee Micra or similar, small, economical, low-pollution, relatively-cheap-to-run-car. Personally I'm sick up to the back teeth of all this anti-car stuff. I have health problems which substantially restrict my ability to walk and stand. For most journeys my car is the o...

Didn't Braehead fall into Renfrew distric in the past and Glasgow had only aquird it at a later date? I'm sure the boundary commision found that out- plus the fact that the majory of it was in renfrew and that the KGV was a natural boundary anyway... It killed Paisleya nd Renfrew so only right Renfr...

iainw things would be better if they reinstated Ibrox rail station. I mainly use the bus to get to uni every day which is O.K, but I find buses don't go to enough places, they just seem to shuttle into the Centre of Towns like the trains. I also don't use First buses, too dirty, the smell is awful on some of them, the seats are rock hard and full of the type that ha...

Bus companies here still seem to be using an antiquated fare stage system instead of a system of flat fares. The Dutch have a much better way of doing things which more or less dispenses with cash altogether. The whole of the Netherlands is divided up into a huge number of flat fare zones with the ...
