Re: Photos of photographers

A few 2-for-1s! The Scheme News

Seen this crap? It's dire...

I Initially thought it was made by the same people as The Digger, but it's some other mob. A badly written of yonks old apocryphal tales.

Re: Computer Problems.

Is it a 2.5" hard drive that's inside the caddy, or is it a 3.5" drive? If it's a 2.5", you might find that the desktop will happily give it the power it wants, while the laptop isn't quite up to it. Using it through a powered USB hub might fix the problem, or one of the Y-cables that...

Re: Am I the only one?

I'm more annoyed at the resizing job that's been done on the photo of the couch outside the tenement. Noticeable aliasing, moire on the blinds too. Amateurs! ::):

Re: Smoking in closes

Bus shelter could be considered 'public space' but a communal close is not - it is a private dwelling. Inside their own flat is private. Given that multiple people have to use the close, it should be defined as at least semi-public. As for talking to them about it, fat chance. This was a lovely cle...

Re: Smoking in closes

I have a neighbour who does this too, the bastards. I don't see why it's acceptable. They don't smoke in their own flat because they don't want it to smell of smoke, but they're happy to fill the close with smoke, meaning that I get a faceful of it when I open the door to the postman, and I have to ...

Re: Digital Camera Equipment. THE Help and discussion thread

@Boxer6 - Do Merchant City Cameras have stock that's not on their website? I'll pop into town and have a look anyway. @droschke7 - I've looked at a few Tamron lenses. I have to admit it's all a little confusing. Different revisions of different lenses having pros and cons, and the sheer number of le...

Re: Digital Camera Equipment. THE Help and discussion thread

What to buy? I've not long bought myself a Canon 550D. My first dSLR. I'm looking for a fast wide-ish angle lens. Everyone says to get the EF 50mm f/1.8 II. They're going for ~£50 on ebay. Is there anything else I should be looking at, around the price range? I don't mind spending a wee bit extra. I...
