Re: Lost Retail Chains

Aye, every Tandy had that metal detector with the bright orange handle in the window. http://www.techzonics.com/alert-metal-detector.jpg Tandy was owned by what is now Radio Shack. More common in the USA, but there's one in Lytham St Annes, a nice wee town down the coast from Blackpool.

Re: Am I the only one?

I can't say I've ever been injured by a cyclist, or even nearly injured. I do hate seeing adult cyclists on pavements where there's a road, though.

"constantly treated as being less than human" seems like a hell of an exaggeration as well.

Re: Clothing Factory by Teviot St?

Speaking of asians and terrible puns, Sanjeev Kohli is the king. Some gems in his twitter feed. Guy loves his wordplay. Great news! I've just been given the "Most Garlicky Breath" award. I was honoured post-houmusly The most infuriating carry-out food is the probably the sheesh! kebab Went...

Re: Computer Problems.

Nope, the USB socket will be for a USB hard drive or thumb drive type thing. You won't be able to connect a PC directly to it unfortunately.

Are the digital in optical or coax? Most sound cards/audio interfaces that have one will have the other, so you'll be fine using that.

Re: Computer Problems.

Anyone know of a laptop that features a decent hi fi connect? What inputs does your hi-fi have? Ideally you'd want to go digital all the way to the hi-fi, so if it has coax or optical sp-dif input, you're laughing. I wouldn't go for a laptop with either of these outputs built-in, however. It's unco...

Re: No-Go Areas in Glasgow. Serious ones.

To deny the facts is to be complicit---a la Jimmy Savile. That's a rational argument if ever I saw one. "If you disagree with me, you're a fucking paedo!" That forum he linked to is proof, if it were needed, that computers are too easy to use these days. His arguments are laughable. You'd...

Re: New camera shop on Sauchiehall Street

It's unfortunate, but that's how the high street is going to go. They can't or won't compete with online shopping.
